About Us
The concept of a "Photographic Project" grew out of the photographic training sessions offered by Timothy L Triplett, George Anderson, and Willi Buhl at the Palestine Public Library. These sessions were in response to a suggestion by Carol Herrington, whose untiring enthusiasm encouraged us to take on this challenge.
The purpose is to both provide a creative outlet for the many photographers in the Palestine area, and to continually improve the Palestine area by raising awareness of the beauty we have today, and how choices we make today can change our future.
As the photographs are collected over the years, a growing visual record of the Palestine area (all of Anderson County is eligible for inclusion) will develop as a community resource.
This project has been encouraged by the enthusiastic response from many organizations within the city (such as Rotary, the Palestine Public Library, the City of Palestine, the Palestine Economic Development Corporation (PEDC), the Palestine Main Street organization, the Palestine Convention and Visitors' Bureau (CVB), the Anderson County Historical Commission, and others)
This web site was created by Coherent Technologies, Inc. as a public service. The personnel actively involved include Jennifer Bradford, Jason Watts and Timothy Triplett.
The photo project for 2007 is entitled "Connecting with our Past... to find our Future".
We hope you will enjoy creating, and viewing, the images capturing the unique blend of people, places and things that make up the Palestine area!
